Our Suppliers
Pre-qualification and selection of suitable suppliers is a priority for Sedgman. In China, we have a rigorous prequalification which includes review of quality assurance processes, supplier financials, modern slavery and a detailed workshop inspection to ensure the supplier is able to meet the high standards and values of Sedgman and our clients. We have established standing agreements with several local key suppliers for fabrication, modularisation, inspections/expediting and equipment manufacturing. This allows us to quickly commence any services required by our clients and maintain long-term relationships with pre-qualified suppliers with a demonstrated track record of successful delivery.
Our Logistics
Logistics is a critical component of procurement delivery from China. We partner with selected logistics providers to transport manufactured goods and modules worldwide. Over many years, we have gained extensive experience in providing shipping management advice including schedule commitments by the fabricators, change management, packing and loading surveillance, import and export tax policy, customs compliance, shipping documentation review, departure and destination logistics requirements.
Our Quality Control
Our quality management of local production processes is also vital to our success. To ensure the products comply with the required technical specifications and tolerances, the team supervise and monitor quality of the goods and services sourced from China for Sedgman projects and operations sites as well as for the broader CIMIC operating companies where required.
For quality inspection, Sedgman China has also established long term relationships and standing agreements with selected inspection and expediting specialists.
Our Team
The China team consists of an experienced multi-lingual team with strong proficiency in English covering the full range of procurement skills. The team has international organisation for standardisation (ISO) qualifications in quality, environment, health and safety.
