Blair Athol Operations
Sedgman was initially contracted to build, own and operate a CHPP with capacity of 250tph on a two-year contract. Sedgman progressively upgrading the facility to capacity 352tph and the production period continued for 12 years.
The CHPP incorporated dense medium and spirals gravity separation circuits with coarse trucked reject material and ultrafine reject material deposited in a tailings dam.
Sedgman’s responsibilities extended from feeding the ROM using tracked reclaim dozers through to the trucking of coarse reject material to deposit in a permanent emplacement area. The product coal was stockpiled for removal by mining operations to a train load-out facility.
